Occasionally a database error may appear. The Firebird program is used to store database information and a reinstallation of it may alleviate this error.
Step 1: Uninstall Firebird
First uninstall Firebird by opening Microsoft Windows Control Panel ->
Programs and Features
. From here, uninstall the following two programs:
- Firebird 2.5
- Firebird Database Updater
Step 2: Reinstall Firebird
To reinstall Firebird navigate to C:\Multifocal\Firebird and Utilities
and double click Firebird
2_5 Installer.exe
, or if that doesn't work try the Firebird-2.5
file. There is a copy attached to this article for 64 bit computers.
Click next through the whole installation process, no settings need to be changed.
After the installation is done, you may need to reconnect to your database if there is missing data.
